Description Stephan Sokolow 2009-05-10 04:35:10 UTC
The kde-misc/konq-plugins ebuild ignores the state of the kdeprefix USE flag, making it useless for people with the flag enabled.

Given how many popular features (dirfilter, search box, web archiver, etc.) are provided by this ebuild (dirfilter's equivalent is even in Dolphin by default, making Konqueror 4 look bad), this is a significant problem for exactly the kind of users who would USE="kdeprefix".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Comment 1 Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev 2009-05-10 05:29:49 UTC
The KDE team at the last meeting decided to drop kdeprefix for all apps outside of kde-base - so we're calling this a "feature" and not a "bug".
Comment 2 Stephan Sokolow 2009-05-10 06:03:23 UTC
Mind moving konq-plugins back into kde-base then? It's very unfair to Konqueror to make it non-competitive to Dolphin in this fashion.
Comment 3 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-10 10:59:13 UTC
It should work installed to /usr
if it is not then we have some bug i assume
Comment 4 Stephan Sokolow 2009-05-10 11:35:36 UTC
It wasn't working for me.

Thankfully, conditions had made it possible for me to switch away from kdeprefix less than a week before and I was just procrastinating the change.
Comment 5 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-05-28 14:16:10 UTC
Should work just peachy with kde-env-4.2.3-r1 and above.
Reopen if you feel it is still hating you :]
