It compiles for me. Please paste the output of emerge info and possibly tar up your temporary portage directory /var/tmp/portage/sarg-1.4.1 and attach or e-mail that to me. Do this after you've attempted to emerge sarg

I'm not the orginal poster, but I'm getting the same error. emerge info:

I'll attach a tar of the /var/tmp/portage/sarg-1.4.1 directory.

/var/tmp/portage/sarg-1.4.1 directory, tarred no compression
Comment 4 Jared H. Hudson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-26 01:23:55 UTC
I was able to compile the tar file and I was able to stage a brand new stage3
gentoo installation and emerge sarg (and squid as a dependency).

Reassigning to bugwranglers.
Comment 5 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-30 05:02:51 UTC
is this still an issue ?
Comment 6 Jared H. Hudson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-11-16 23:54:20 UTC
Since I could never duplicate the problem, I am closing this ticket.
Comment 7 FieldySnuts 2004-01-22 10:14:15 UTC
Unfortunately I am seeing this problem:

Comment 8 FieldySnuts 2004-01-22 10:19:09 UTC
I tried 1.4.1-r1 on another gentoo machine, and it compiled. The emerge info on the machine that it did compile on:

Portage 2.0.49-r20 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.3, glibc-2.3.2-r3, 2.6.1)

I also tried 1.4.1 on the machine that 1.4.1-r1 failed to compile on, and it failed with the same error.
Comment 9 FieldySnuts 2004-01-22 10:27:25 UTC
I removed userpriv from FEATURES in /etc/make.conf on the machine which 1.4.1-r1 was not compiling, and it got past the error. I put userpriv back in, and the error occured again.

So userpriv definately has something to do with it.

Without userpriv, the compile finishes.
