Description Iain Buchanan 2009-05-07 01:37:12 UTC
net-dns/avahi-0.6.24-r2 and media-sound/rhythmbox-0.12.0 with daap USE flag could access a shared music server and play music as expected.

A recent upgrade to net-dns/avahi-0.6.25 and media-sound/rhythmbox-0.12.1 has broken this feature.

The "shared" tree still appears in the side pane with one entry in it, but when I click on the server name I get the message "Could not connect to shared music. Cannot connect to destination" in a dialog from rhythmbox.

I've updated all config files and rebooted since upgrading packages. avahi service is running. avahi-discover shows the music share under "iTunes Audio Access" called "Music Server on ..." The share is on a FreeBSD (7.1-RELEASE-p4) box running avahi-daemon 0.6.24.

Not sure if this is a conflict between rhythmbox and avahi, or different avahi versions, or updated API or what.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Oops, nevermind! There was a problem with the music server since yesterday. The owner has restarted it and now it's working :)

sorry for the noise.
