Description Arcady Genkin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-18 12:08:49 UTC
The hyperlink for herds.xml to
http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/misc/herds.xml?rev=HEAD&cvsroot=gentoo
from the herds documentation page, section 3
(http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/metastructure/herds/) produces the following
error message:

Error loading stylesheet: An XSLT stylesheet does not have an XML mimetype:
   http://www.gentoo.org/xsl/guide.xsl

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Follow the symlink for herds.xml (unformatted).
Comment 1 Zack Gilburd (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-18 13:21:02 UTC
This herds file is not supposed to be viewed in one's browser. That's what the "(formatted)" link is for located to the right of the herds.xml link.

Then I would suggest not to make it a clickable hyper-link, for it is confusing. If you want to provide a link to download the file, then maybe a link named "download" would be more appropriate.

When cvs works again I'll try to set the mimetype to text/plain, after which the browser should stop complaining. Basically that version is the authorative, while the formatted one is a manual copy to the web dir.

This has been fixed for quite some time now. Must have forgotten to close it
