Description Brian Moon 2009-05-01 15:03:15 UTC
Sphinx search supports 64 bit document ids, but to enabled it I currently have to use EXTRA_ECONF. Please add a USE flag for this configure option.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
emerge sphinx

Actual Results:
only supports 32 bit ids

Expected Results:
Want use flag to allow 64 bit ids

It would probably be nice if this could be made the default, however that could present problems for people who upgrade. I don't really know what it'll do - if it'll corrupt the existing data, etc.

Anyone who actually uses/knows sphinx care to test what happens?

The indexes are not compatible. So, for backwards compatibility, it should not be a defaulted on USE flag IMO. And I will have it on for all my servers.

Added 'id64' local USE flag to all app-misc/sphinx ebuilds in CVS. USE flag is not enabled by default. Thanks for reporting and the follow up info. Closing as FIXED.
