When emerge is running, I get the following error
when trying to start imaps service (from the different console!):

"Sandbox error : the PATH environmental variable should be defined."

Investigation leads to the following: running ANY program with no PATH in the
environment(like "env - sh"), while emerge is running
(as I said in another console), will give the same error. i.e. .

portage 1.8.6 fixes this
