The be-quiet-for-devfsd gentoo patch for module-init-tools is wrong. When the patches modprobe detects it should be quiet, but doesn't find the requested module, it exits with 0, instead of 1. This proves fatal when using something like install a modprobe b || modprobe c in /etc/modprobe.conf. modprobe c is never tried, as modprobe b always succeeds. Such constructs are generated by generate-modprobe.conf when processing a "probe" directive found in /etc/modules.conf. A fixed patch (1 chunk from the original patch removed) is attached. Apply, please. Rudo.

Sorry about the duplicate patches, but bugzilla spit out some error messages all the time, although the patches were correctly uploaded.
Please use latest module-init-tools, and just add a patch that fixes the return. Thanks.
