I'm using synergy to control my gentoo laptop from my desktop machine. After upgrading to xorg-server-1.5.3-r5 i noticed the following: As soon as synergy takes control of the laptop it turns of keyboard auto repeat which is quite annoying. There is also a bug report on synergy's own tracker (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=490467&aid=1911548&group_id=59275) but it has't been fixed for over a year now so i think gentoo should include the patch which can be found at http://www.byteslooser.com/linux/synergy.patch/linuxSynergyPatch.html (Site is currently down, use google's cache). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 189411 [details, diff] This patch fixes the keyboard auto repeat issues with synergy-1.3.1
I also have key repeat issues with the left and down keys. At https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synergy/+bug/281546 I found a quick workaround: Type 'xset r 116' and 'xset r 113' before starting the synergy client. Until portage contains the patch, I'll stick to this workaround.
I think that this patch was incooperated on version 1.3.6, can you please check the new version? Thanks
I hadn't used synergy for some time, but these are my test results: Client: 1.3.1, server: 1.3.1-r2: arrow key problems. xev shows correct keycode, but incorrect keysym for all arrow-keys. arrows on numeric keypad work fine. Client: 1.4.2, server: 1.3.1-r2: same problem Client: 1.4.2, server: 1.4.2: problem gone. Synergy works perfectly.
