Doing a world update, dev-python/lxml-2.1.5 failed because "lxml requires cython-0.9.6.10 or later.", however I have "dev-python/cython-0.9.8.1.1" currently installed. I can't reproduce this one. Can someone else try this? >>> Compiling source in /var/tmp/portage/dev-python/lxml-2.1.5/work/lxml-2.1.5 ... Building lxml version 2.1.5. Building with Cython 0.9.8.1.1. Using build configuration of libxslt 1.1.24 Graham, by any chance, did you upgrade Python recently? Best regards,
Yes - to dev-lang/python-2.6.1-r1 as part of the same update, as it happens with only one package between it and lxml. That version of cython was installed in November though, as was the previous time that lxml was updated.
I just had this problem too. There was a minor update to Python. Then it went to update to lxml-2.1.5 and it complained about cython, identical to the bug description. I just did `emerge cython` to re-compile it again (although I've never touched it myself before now) and then `emerge lxml` now works great.
Looks like a glitch in the update process. But re-merging fixes it, so no idea how that glitch can be avoided. Closing.
