I've added 130.208.16.26 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org. Please update your rsync cron jobs to point to rsync1.us.gentoo.org and post back here when you've done so. We'll monitor the server for a couple days to make sure things are working fine. Thanks.
The source mirror last updated at "Fri, 29 Aug 2003 06:55:00 +0000". Is it configured to update every 4 hours?

Just to be clear, the rsync server isn't having any problems. When I posted comment #2, the source mirror's last sync was at 06:55 on the 29th. I should have posted the current time as well, which was more than 4 hours later. Now, at "Sat, 30 Aug 2003 03:11:41 +0000" (date -uR), the last source mirror sync was still "Fri, 29 Aug 2003 06:55:00 +0000". Thats about 20 hours and still no sync. Are you able to manually sync the source mirror without errors?
I mirror from www.ibiblio.org the gentoo/ collection every 4 hours and the portage stuff from rsync1.us.gentoo.org and both are shown uptodate when I sync manually, would you like me to do a dry-run?

This list is used to discuss mirror-related issues. Thanks for supporting Gentoo. Source mirror: I just checked the source mirror again. As of "Tue, 02 Sep 2003 04:25:19 +0000" the last sync was "Sat, 30 Aug 2003 06:55:00 +0000". Are there no errors in any log files? If you try to sync the source files manually, check the contents of distfiles/timestamp.chk to see when the last sync was. After the sync completes, verify its contents again to make sure it has updated.
I've learned that you aren't having any problems. I misunderstood how source mirror syncing worked on our end. Ibiblio doesn't sync very often, so your timestamp will only match their last sync, which can be many hours old. Sorry for the confusion. I'll send some instructions on how to access our private distfiles mirror.
I'm ready to add the server to the mirrors page. Is there a particular name you'd like us to use (company, school, etc.) for the listing?
