The ebuild for webkit-gtk-1.1.3 lists virtual/perl-Text-Balanced as a dependency, which causes the ebuild to pull a long list of perl packages. This dependency is not listed in this page:
http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/BuildingGtk

I tried eliminating the dependency from the ebuild and the package builds fine.

Verified and fixed in the gnome overlay[1]
