Description Christopher Bradford 2009-04-09 16:12:39 UTC
Clean installation of Gentoo PPC 2008.0 on an iMac G4 20" (also known as the iLamp). Emerged xorg-x11 and used xac to configure. Upon starting X the clock in the top right was half-visible on the top right of the screen and helf visible on the top left. Moving the mouse all the way to the right would cause it to jump from the right side of the screen to the "wrapped" left side. Attempts to use xvidtune to adjust the modeline were unsuccessful.

(This also occurs on the 20" G5 iMacs)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge xorg-x11 on an iMac with a 20" screen
2. emerge xac and run
3. startx
4. Look at the top right clock or move the mouse all the way to the right

Actual Results:
Screen is shifted and wraps about 3/4"

Expected Results:
Screen that is centered.

Same error as a bug in Ubuntu which can be found here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nv/+bug/189844

Patching the video driver does work although the patch needs to be updated.

This bug is also in freedesktop's bugzilla: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14659

I'm not sure why you closed the bug already! :)

Let's track the bug upstream directly, I won't add patches that haven't been accepted by upstream.

Thanks
