It is a known problem upstream with adobe. I just did a search acroread 'RSException' and you will get a ton of hits for 9.1

Looks similiar to bug #217094 but here acroread refuses to work at all, I've no gnome system around to judge if the errors you get are fatal and/or perhaps a configuration issue. CC'ing gnome guys to shed some light on this.

the Gtk-Message are a non fatal category of message, it just says could not open the shared object library: file not found. Also the theme error should not be fatal too.
