The update to xorg-server 1.5.3-r5 with a "ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250 [Mobility FireGL 9000]" card did not work properly.

The x-server di not start until I did:
# emerge -av --oneshot xf86-video-ati

The keyboard and mouse did not work until I did:
# emerge -av --oneshot xf86-input-evdev

DRI did software rendering until i did:
# emerge -av --oneshot xf86driproto


Reproducible: Didn't try

Next time, read the post-merge notes.

As for the dri, you've probably misunderstood something.
