Renato,

Several things:

Firstly, I and at least one other bugwrangler have personally told you multiple times *not* to set the severity fields to critical for all your bugs. You're still doing it, please don't.

Secondly, you've now also set they Keywords field, but without using one of the specified keywords. Again, this demonstrates that you're modifying fields without knowing what they do, please don't.

Third you've added yourself to the CC list of a bug you reported. You don't need to do this, as you'll receive mail about the bug simply by being the reporter of it.

Fourth, it shouldn't have been possible for you to install vmware-workstation from the main tree because of bug 265246 (which I only just fixed). Since the vmware overlay isn't in your emerge --info, how exactly did you manage to install vmware-workstation to get this error?

The only way I can imagine you installed it was by manually re-digesting the package without the appropriate patches, in which case this error could well be your own fault. I'm going to mark this bug as INVALID. Please re-sync your portage tree, try emerging again, and only then if you still have the problem should you come back to this bug and re-open it. If you do, do not change any of the severity or keyword fields.

solved copying the /etc/vmware content from a working twin thanks to goodwill from #gentoo freenode channel
