Description Audiodef 2009-04-06 18:52:59 UTC
When using OpenOffice 3, using ctrl-c to copy text appears not to work when pasting copied text AFTER closing OpenOffice.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open OpenOffice 3 (I have 3.0.1)
2. Type some text
3. Copy text with ctrl-c
4. Close OpenOffice
5. Attempt to paste text somewhere else (gedit, for example)

Actual Results:
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
Copied text should be pasted into new document outside of OpenOffice.

I have not tried this with other OpenOffice versions, nor have I tried pasting into anything other than gedit. But this seems like a bug to me. Copy is copy and whatever is copied should be in the system clipboard until something else is copied.

In general, what kind of Desktop is this? KDE? Gnome? XFCE?
Comment 4 Audiodef 2009-04-07 22:41:59 UTC
Gnome.
Comment 5 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-08 19:57:51 UTC
And what app are you trying to paste the contents into?
Comment 6 Audiodef 2009-04-08 20:21:56 UTC
Anything. Whatever. Nano, Vi, gedit, a sticky note, etc.

NOTE: copying/pasting to/from other programs work after they've been closed. Openoffice is the one that doesn't wanna play fair.

Not a lot we (Gentoo) can do here...
