Sorry, this is my first ever ebuild submission so I'm sure I'm going to do something wrong. I have only built and tested these from my laptop which is a pentium3 running some 1.4 version of gentoo (rc4 I think) ices-0.3 breaks compatibility with the old icecast 1 which even the icecast people say do not use, but adds the ability to stream mp3s to icecast 2. libshout 2 is required for ices-0.3 to connect to icecast 2, and can probably co-exist with libshout 1, but I am unaware as to how to seperate those in the portage, so I put libshout-2.0 in my media-libs/libshout directory. Essentially having ices-0.3 in the portage would mean you no longer need icecast1 except for legacy reasons.
