So far the packages format seems to be working out great. There are a few pieces of useful info that we are excluding in the header. IE. I think we want to capture the -m* in the CFLAGS: In version 1 we should probably just outright drop MD5 We should also exclude REPO: gentoo and only display the non gentoo repo in order to stop waisting space and a few bytes bandwidth. Optional we add REPO: to the header for whatever parent type (I say parent is gentoo) and only display those which differ. CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK= serves no use in the header as it applies to the build host only. A remote would never inherit those settings from a build host. I'm sure there are other ideas/improvements we can do to it to reduce size and offer more meaningful results.
