When trying to emerge syslog-ng during installation of Gentoo the emerge of the dependency dev-libs/glib-2.18.4-r1 fails with "poor code kills airplanes". Reproducible: Always
Please attach build.log and emerge --info output so the issue can be investigated
that kind of issues is to be reported upstream (this is probably written in the output btw so please read what emerge says, thanks).
Ok, well now the glib developers have responded with their own snippy reply: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577264 I don't really care who's "fault" it is. All I know is that I'm having issues doing a fresh install right now because syslog-ng depends on this. Since, AFAICT, "stricter" is enabled by default, I', surprised this hasn't created more problems.
As far as I know, stricter is only on in dev profiles. Don't use them, they're not for general consumption. If you want these fixed, please provide patches, preferably to upstream.
should be fixed by patch in bug #264686
