Description Pieter De Wit 2003-08-11 02:06:17 UTC
Hey Guys,

Can we perhaps add an entry in /etc/conf.d/clam to start the milter with the
following command

/usr/local/sbin/clamav-milter -bloc /etc/clamav.conf /var/run/clmilter.sock

and to delete /var/run/clmilter.sock on shutdown ?

Thanks,

Pieter

Did we get a "second" on this ?

Thanks,

Pieter

This feature would be useful. We're deploying clamd/clamav-milter and would find this helpful.

I think that using the -b (bounce) flag may be not be advisable as I believe it can cause bounces to be sent to innocent parties when a virus forges its origin.

conf.d/clamd including options for CLAMAVMILTER

I've essentially done this.
WARNING: this has my config stuff in it, but it should get you going.
Here is a patch for /etc/conf.d/clamd

Andrea, when doing this, please try to fetch socket path from original config
file, instead of using /etc/conf.d/clamd, as I'd like to prevent having to match
settings in two places unnecessarily. See clamd initscript, CLAMD_SOCKET.
Comment 8 Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-17 09:06:25 UTC
Of course, START_MILTER (if needed) is ok for conf.d file. :)

Here's an updated ebuild (don't forget the new files/):

please test :)

clamav-0.85.1-r1.ebuild is in portage, please test.
Comment 12 Andrea Barisani (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-02 23:56:07 UTC
clamav-0.85.1 is stable with new confd/init scripts.
Comment 13 Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-03 01:40:58 UTC
Um, sorry, but the 0.85.1-r1 is the one with updated sendmail stuff. :)
Comment 14 Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-06 05:56:26 UTC
0.85.1-r1 stable on x86, let's close this for good. :)
