I just installed a new Gentoo SELinux machine from the scratch and the default /etc/make.conf file appears to be somewhat messed up: Apparently, someone hit "word wrap" in the FEATURES section, destroying the formatting. This makes the file very hard to read, so could someone please restore the old, formatted version? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
SE uses the mainline stage1, and pebenito confirms that we dont do anything to portage or make.conf. Reassigning bug to dev-portage.
well, all the make.conf's on cvs are fine ...
Assigning to Method to re-route to the right person. It looks like it be a selinux-specific issue as the stager make.confs look fine as well.
We don't have any stages or livecds yet, we use the regular default profile stages and livecds. The make.conf is whatever is in the stage/whatever comes out of portage's merge. We don't touch make.conf. This is from before 2.0.49 portage, so the SELinux code in portage is not to blame. I think this is just a slightly corrupt stage tarball on the user's machine.
Reassigning bug back to bug-wranglers.
Not just any user, mind you, but Peter Simons who is a really nice guy :)
Looks like this is going to be more complicated than I thought. :-) I'll be re-installing my machine from the scratch soon anyway, so it's probably best to just close this bug with "reporter was on drugs", and in case the "problem" appears again, I'll re-open it with "whole Gentoo staff was on drugs". OK? :-)
We didn't check the entire cvs history for the make.confs, just the current version, so it could have been messed up at the point the selinux build was made but later fixed. I'll go ahead and close the bug.
