Description FRLinux 2009-03-20 00:33:26 UTC
I build the latest amarok (USE = debug ipod kdeprefix mp4 njb opengl semantic-desktop) on Gentoo, currently using KDE 4.2.1 from the upgrade guide. My ipod although connected and mounted does not show in amarok 2.0.2 menu.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. connect ipod and mount it (mine is under /mnt/ipod)
2. launch amarok 2.0.2
3. watch it do nothing

Actual Results:
no ipod detected showing on main window

Expected Results:
ipod should be shown as a dropdown list

Have you tested amarok-2.0.2-r1? If you use the kde-testing overlay, you can also try out amarok-2.0.90.

I don't have an ipod, so I need some info before I can do anything.
Comment 3 FRLinux 2009-11-02 22:44:17 UTC
Reinstalled amarok 2 now part of my whole KDE 4.3.1 in Gentoo, It still cannot see the ipod (whereas amarok 1.4 was fine):

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 05ac:1261 Apple Computer, Inc.

This is the flags:
[ebuild R ] media-sound/amarok-2.2.0 USE="ipod lastfm opengl semantic-desktop (-aqua) -cdda -daap -debug -mp3tunes -mtp" LINGUAS="fr -bg -ca -cs -da -de -en_GB -es -et -eu -fi -it -ja -km -nb -nds -nl -pa -pl -pt -pt_BR -ru -sl -sr -sr@latin -sv -th -tr -uk -wa -zh_TW" 0 kB

And the detection of the ipod by the kernel 2.6.30-gentoo-r8:

Please let me know how I can help debugging it...

Forgot to also mention that on the same system, gtkpod sees it fine too.
Comment 5 FRLinux 2009-11-02 22:49:09 UTC
Hadn't realized that the "new" way was to mount the ipod first. Amarok now sees it but i cannot copy files to it. (never gives the option).
Comment 6 FRLinux 2009-11-02 22:56:40 UTC
Actually got it working with new version of amarok. Sorry for the noise and thanks for the hard work :)
