If I go to "customize theme" in the icons section I can't see the different icon themes show up. Only icon themes from x11-themes/gnome-themes-extras appear with their own icon. This happens with Nautilus bookmarks too, but only if I select Menu -> Places -> Bookmarks. Reproducible: Always
I have that too. Also folder icons in Firefox (3.0.7) are broken the same way. sorry but I don't understand your problem. Are you setting a custom icon theme ? If so the problem might be that your theme is not up to date with latest icon-naming standards from freedesktop. Does it work well with gnome's default icon theme ?
Created attachment 185475 [details] Gnome 2.22 As you can see, the icons here show them own icons
Created attachment 185476 [details] Gnome 2.24 This is what Gnome 2.24 do with default icons theme, do not change the differences.
Hum I thought I asked but did you open (or would you like to) open an upstream bug report for that ?
(In reply to comment #5) > Hum I thought I asked but did you open (or would you like to) open an upstream > bug report for that ? > Not me, (my english level is too low, Andrey Vihrov help me to write this bug report) but if you think worth report this in upstream you can do that, otherwise...don't know, do what you think is better.
I think that this is related with: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=539286 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=567254 that should be fixed in 2.26
Gnome 2.26 should soon be stable (see bug #281427). Closing wontfix since no-one actually took the time to fix it when it was worth it.
