The libqimsw-multi.so is not installed with qt . Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install qt4 Actual Results: The file /usr/lib64/qt4/plugins/inputmethods/libqimsw-multi.so is missing. Expected Results: The file /usr/lib64/qt4/plugins/inputmethods/libqimsw-multi.so should be present. I've tryed two versions of Qt4: 4.4.2 and 4.5.0. The file is always missing. I've tryed to compile manually the file, and all works fine (and I can use correctly the input methods). Ok just to make it clear. This has been fixed on the following packages: qt-gui-4.4.2-r3 qt-gui-4.5.0 So re-emerge the one that matches your qt version :) Thanks
