An earlier version 1.0.19 is known to have emerged fine as late as 2009-03-13. Today "emerge sbcl" fails with this console output:

emerge sbcl
...

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=sys-libs/glibc-2.3".
(dependency required by "dev-lisp/sbcl-1.0.26-r10" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "sbcl" [argument])

thanks removed glibc dependency for prefix
