Description Fabiano Francesconi 2009-03-12 11:03:24 UTC
I've just upgraded sensors-applet from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2.

It shows ERROR instead of the temperatures of the system (Chip not found when I move the mouse above the icon).
With v2.2.1 everything works fine.

The splash that appears when I enable the sensors gives the following messages:
"An error occurred while trying to update the value of the sensor Core 1 located at sensor://coretemp-isa-0001/1"

The sensor in the list is named "libsensors".

"Hddtemp" sensor part works fine
I tried to redo the "sensors-detect" command but it didn't help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a libsensors' sensor (like Core0 or Core 1)
Actual Results:
ERROR is displayed in the menubar a red splash appears notifying me the error reported above

Expected Results:
The sensor's temperature value should be displayed as in version 2.2.1

I've a macbook 3,1 and coretemp module is loaded by lm_sensor deamon.

I get that as well when using a 2.6.28 kernel even with acpi readings. Everything is fine with any previous version though. Could you please report this upstream an paste the url here ?

On my system (2.6.28.7 Kernel) only libsensors' sensors show errors, not with acpi readings.

I (upstream) has just released sensors-applet version 2.2.3 which should fix this, thanks for pushing the bug report upstream so we knew it was broken. Cheers

I can confirm that ver. 2.2.3 fixes this bug. The maintainer of gnome-extra/sensors-applet may bump to 2.2.3.

Thanks!

Comment 8 Fabiano Francesconi 2009-03-15 10:16:52 UTC
same here.
v2.2.3 works out of the boxes :P

Thanks
Comment 9 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-15 11:23:13 UTC
bumped. Thanks for reporting.
@Alex I added you to metadata.xml as maintainer so your CCed on sensors-applet bugs we get if that's fine with you.
Comment 10 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-15 12:19:44 UTC
meh, forgot to close.
Comment 11 Alex Murray 2009-03-16 11:13:18 UTC
@Gilles - yep thats fine, much easier than manually forwarding bug reports upstream. cheers
