"pydf --bw" doesn't entirely disable colouring of output; the "return to default" ANSI escape is still printed regardless of "--bw" being present or not, resulting in garbage at the end of every "df" line for those terminals which don't support colour (or watch(1) in my case). Patch to follow, which may or may not be the right/correct fix, but does fix this bug...
Created attachment 184527 [details, diff] Patch to make "pydf --bw" work as advertised.
Reassigning to maintainer.

Nice to see that a trivial bugfix has been neglected for 3+ months. Yet another reason why my clients I will be moving all Linux servers (that's over 400, by the way) away from Gentoo. I used to love this distribution, really. But I see nothing more than a hackers' toy when I look at it now. Which wouldn't be so bad if bugs, IRC messages, e-mails etc. weren't ignored by multiple developers. Alas this is now the case for me now, so I give up. I'm adding userrel@g.o to the CC list (presuming the procedure hasn't changed since I was a dev), but I don't really expect anything to come of this, in all seriousness. But would like to be presently surprised.
Yes the fix is trivial, but so is this bug. It's a fringe issue on a fringe package. We Gentoo developers are all volunteers, so we work on what we find most essential, or most interesting. If that is not up to your standards, then become a developer yourself and fix it yourself.
