Tested installation of cherokee-0.99.3 by renaming the ebuild for said version. Works great on amd64. I also noticed the ssl IUSE isn't used (comment in the ebuild explains that it's not possible to enable or disable ssl anymore) and there's quite some files in files/ that are useless for the cherokee versions in portage.
Hope someone will copy the build soon! (or perhaps add ~amd64 while you're at it...)
