Plone is now released as an egg.
To handle the installation of it in gentoo I added 2 (two) new packages in portage: zcbuildout and zopeskel
This should handle the install of plone following the directions from the following links:
http://plone.org/documentation/manual/upgrade-guide/version/upgrading-from-3-x-to-3.2
http://plone.org/documentation/tutorial/buildout

I'm waiting for better idea (from python team, in cc, maybe) on the way to manage plone installation. Until that happens, there will be no more update for plone in gentoo

Python team recommends to use ebuilds...
If you don't want to change your decision, then please package.mask net-zope/plone for removal to avoid confusion that net-zope/plone ebuilds are intended to be used.
