Comment 1 Alexander Uskov 2009-03-07 07:37:43 UTC
Sorry, http and ftp links is:
http://mirror.neolabs.kz/gentoo/pub
ftp://mirror.neolabs.kz/gentoo/pub
Comment 2 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-08 18:37:22 UTC
Thanks for wanting to help with a Gentoo mirror. I'm adding this mirror to our
test system - please make sure the source mirror is syncing once every 4 hours as
mentioned at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml and the rsync mirror every 30 minutes as mentioned in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml.

We will keep you posted on the status of testing. In the mean time, could you
please post the location, hardware, and bandwidth specifications of the server, the administrative contact, and the maximum permitted concurrent users for each protocol?
Comment 3 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-08 19:11:35 UTC
Your portage mirror seems to be lagging (currently 1h 12m at least). Is it set to sync every 30 minutes as per the documentation?
Comment 4 Alexander Uskov 2009-03-09 06:36:51 UTC
Country: Kazakhstan
City: Almaty
HW: CPU: 2xXeon, RAM: 64GB, HDD: 16TB
Bandwidth: 3x100Mb/s to Kazakhstan. ~100Mb/s to world
Admin contact: support@neolabs.kz
Max connect:
   http: 254
   ftp:   50
   rsync: 15

I synced by rsync-gentoo-portage.sh whis config:
RSYNC="/usr/bin/rsync"
OPTS="--quiet --recursive --links --perms --times --devices --delete --timeout=300"
SRC="rsync://rsync.us.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"
DST="/home/ftp/gentoo/rsync"

Crontab record:
02,32 * * * *  /usr/local/gentoo-rsync/rsync-gentoo-portage.sh
Cront and rsync logs don't have any errors.
Whether problems on one of rsync.us.gentoo.org are possible?
Comment 5 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-15 04:54:14 UTC
I'm not sure what the problem might be - your crontab line looks fine. There's no problem with rsync.us.gentoo.org.
Comment 6 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-15 05:18:30 UTC
Please also note that releases are not sync'ed properly either:

ERROR:	Releases at http://mirror.neolabs.kz/gentoo/pub is lagging (delta is 00d 04h 09m 48s)

What about of status of this bug?
Comment 11 Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2009-04-14 18:46:39 UTC
Please don't close the bug.
Arun is on vacation at the moment, and the rest of the mirrors team is overworked.
(I myself am leaving on a business trip later this week, for 2 weeks).
Comment 12 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-17 20:28:21 UTC
Alexander, sorry about the large delay, but am caught with real life work. Since the bug was closed and reopened, I'd like to just observe the server for a few more days before adding.

Thanks in advance for your patience.
Comment 13 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-22 16:41:09 UTC
There seems to be some trouble with the server. mirror.neolabs.kz is not accessible at all.
Comment 14 Alexander Uskov 2009-04-27 07:10:10 UTC

I notify You after recovery my service
Comment 15 Arun Raghavan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-27 18:01:01 UTC

Sorry for the delay. The mirror-admin team is understaffed right now. I'll be able to get this bug addressed soon.

Source Mirror is done:

Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml. Please start syncing from masterdistfiles.gentoo.org as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors-subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. Thanks for the hardware and bandwidth!

Please hold for the gentoo-portage mirror, I need to confirm something with the infra team first.
Comment 21 Jeremy Olexa (darkside) (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2009-10-02 03:09:35 UTC
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added the IP you specified in the bug to our access database, please start syncing to rsync1.us.gentoo.org per our rsync document at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors+subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send our notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org/rsync as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. You are mirror rsync1.kz.gentoo.org in the rsync.kz.gentoo.org rotation and have been added to the rsync.asia.gentoo.org rotation as well.
Comment 22 Alexander Uskov 2009-10-02 05:09:28 UTC
Please, change in http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org/rsync/: Admin contact - Alexander Uskov (support@neolabs.kz)

No, I can't do that right now. Currently not very well supported and I want to code something else up including a gentoo-portage mirrors listing website. Thanks again.
