Description GnomeKing 2003-08-07 03:47:58 UTC
Emerging em8300-modules changes the default used by the em8300setup program
from PAL to NTSC always, because the auther "thinks its a better default"

This should be a USE flag, or it should not change the default set by the
developers (if NTSC really IS a better default, surely the developers should
change it to be thus)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
em8300 was compiled with NTSC as the default

Expected Results:
PAL should be the default as the developers specified

Work around at run time, you have to run em8300setup then em8300setup -p pal

Can I appologise for my bad spelling and just say that the reproduce steps are simply to emerge em8300-modules - the ebuild has a sed command to change the default

I'm hoping that they will make a new release of em8300 stuff soon, and at that point, I will rework the ebuild and hopefully some of these issues will go away...

Thank you for the report. It has been fixed in version 0.14 and later.
