Description Carlos Konstanski 2009-03-02 20:57:02 UTC
Not much to describe: I upgraded to app-emacs/cedet-1.0_pre6. After that, ecb stopped working. I tried to re-emerge it, but the build failed. Reverting to app-emacs/cedet-1.0_pre4-r2 fixed the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Could you please provide us with the following information:
- Emacs version
- USE flags for ecb ("java" being the only interesting one)
- full build.log

I changed the ARCH to all because I get the same problem on x86.

emacs version: 22.3-r1
ecb USE flags: java (and I also reproduced it with -java)

Comment 4 Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2009-03-03 07:31:27 UTC
I can reproduce it (with USE="java").

Please try the following:
$ emerge -C app-emacs/elib app-emacs/jde
$ USE="-java" emerge app-emacs/ecb

Does this successfully compile?

If yes, then you might give jde-2.3.5.1-r1 (committed yesterday) a try. jde-2.3.5.1 definitely had some problems which were uncovered by cedet-1.0_pre6.
$ USE="java" emerge =app-emacs/jde-2.3.5.1-r1 app-emacs/ecb
Comment 5 Elias Pipping 2009-03-03 10:18:19 UTC
Hi, I was affected by this as well (jde-mode failed to start).

Upgrading to jde 2.3.5.1-r1 took care of it, thanks.

It works! Thank you. Appears to be fixed. JDE seems to work normally.
Comment 7 Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2009-03-03 17:08:08 UTC
Thank you for reporting this issue.

BTW, I've also rearranged things in cedet-1.0_pre6.ebuild (without revbump).
The "source file ... newer than byte-compiled file" warnings that appear in your build.log should be gone now.
