Bug 260669 – x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-6.11.0 goes black

Upgraded from xf86-video-ati-6.10.0 to xf86-video-ati-6.11.0.
Reboot. Blank screen when X takes control. Alt-Ctrl-Bkspc do nothing. But Alt-Ctrl-F1 does.
less /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows no error and no warning (apart from bios thing that are usual on PPC as we don't have bios).
/etc/init.d/xdm restart : no better
Reemerged xf86-video-ati-6.10.0 to see. /etc/init.d/xdm restart : OK

version of xorg-server is 1.5.3-r2

I have that problem, too with radeon drivers version 6.12.1 but screen is fully garbled and ctrl+alt+f1 does not have any effect.
Chipset Xpress 200m on notebook HP nx6125.
