A GTK+2 engine and associated themes developed by and for the Fedora Project. Nodoka is a fork of Murrine that, I think, would be a good addition to the Portage tree. Nodoka currently offers far fewer themes, but they're all very professional-looking and work well "out of the box": no tweaking gtkrc files or spending hours sifting through gnome-look.org. See https://fedorahosted.org/nodoka/wiki/Screenshots for some examples. I'll attach an ebuild for the most recent release. It worked for me, but I'm certainly not an expert. It would probably be worthwhile to have a gtk-engines-nodoka-9999 ebuild for the development sources (git://git.fedorahosted.org/nodoka). I'll try to add an ebuild for this later, assuming I can get it to work and no one beats me to it. Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 183432 [details] Ebuild for Nodoka 0.7.2
Created attachment 183688 [details] gtk-nodoka-engine-0.7.2.ebuild some fixes also note that this package doesn't include a metacity theme. You can find one here: https://fedorahosted.org/releases/n/o/nodoka/nodoka-theme-gnome-0.3.90.tar.gz
You can also get an xfwm4 theme here: http://www.xfce-look.org/content/show.php/Nodoka+Xfwm4+Theme?content=79356&PHPSESSID=8804fb89ae6154b57558268235b67e83
Regarding John G.'s ebuild: We should probably call it gtk-engines-nodoka to be consistent with the other engines in the Portage tree. Also, I can verify that it works on powerpc; you may be right about the gtk+ version though.
Created attachment 184081 [details] gtk-engines-nodoka-0.7.2.ebuild sorry i didnt check the naming of the other gtk engines in portage. I thought it was gentoo policy to name the ebuilds like upstream does. I got the gtk version from configure.ac but it doesnt matter anyway as the lowest version in portage is 2.10
Looks good to me.
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. ...and we have it in the tree. Thanks!
