I have set the vanilla USE-flag for gdb. I already reported the bug upstream: http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=9904 On #gdb (IRC), it was hinted about a problem in the output which could perhaps be related: gdb is identifying threads as if they were processes in the corefile. Another user reproduced the same issue (identifying threads as if they were processes) with gcore with GDB 6.8 on his x86_64. This issue seems to be fixed in CVS. I'll try GDB CVS now and report back if that solves the whole problem.

well once upstream gets a patch, we'll include it ... we dont really have any internal gdb experts who can/will move things faster thanks for reporting it upstream
