Description BT 2009-02-23 00:51:57 UTC
media-tv/xbmc-9999 has failed to build every time since it was added to Portage and always with the same error. The latest failure was with xbmc-9999.ebuild revision 1.7 and XBMC SVN revision 17990.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge xbmc
Actual Results:

fribidi/fribidi-char-sets.h gets installed by dev-libs/fribidi which is a dependency of xbmc.

Do you have /usr/include/fribidi/fribidi_char_sets.h ?

If not, try to emerge -1 dev-libs/fribidi

Yes.

I re-emerged fribidi but I still get the same error.
Comment 4 Christoph Gysin 2009-02-23 23:10:22 UTC
Ah, fribidi-char-sets.h != fribidi_char_sets.h ;)

This patch causes the problem:
http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/media-tv/xbmc/files/xbmc-fribidi.patch?rev=1.1&view=markup

It seems that the fribidi headers have been renamed. The patched made it work with an older version of fribidi.

For a quick workaround:

$ sudo ln -s fribidi_char_sets.h /usr/include/fribidi/fribidi-char-sets.h

It would probably be the easiest to add that symlink to the fribidi ebuild. Otherwise the above patch needs to be split up and applied only for specific versions of fribidi...

That worked! Thanks for your help.
