Description GFV 2003-08-05 12:15:01 UTC
Apparently Xboard (/usr/bin/xboard) tries to launch gnuchess, but
/usr/games/bin/ is not in the default path and so xboard fails.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.type xboard
2.
3.

Actual Results:
xboard shows a dialog saying "Error writing to chess program gnuchess on
localhost: gnuchess: Permission denied". Once you click OK, xboard closes

Obviously, gnuchess is on /usr/games/bin/gnuchess

add yourseelf to the games group and regen your environment
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2003-08-13 21:07:24 UTC
lack of user input + bug seems to be they havent added themselves to games group ...

ive gone ahead and updated the xboard ebuild to use games.eclass too, so if the user can run xboard, they should be able to run gnuchess
