Description Allen Brooker (AllenJB) 2009-02-15 17:59:43 UTC
Many users find that Google and other search engines often provide much better results than the forums own search system. Please allow Google and other search engines to index the forums to help users find existing information. This will help prevent the creation of duplicate threads on the same topic and keep the forums tidier and the users happier.

(Note: I tried searching for bugs mentioning the proxy system deployment mentioned in one of the threads below, but was unable to find anything - is there a bug / roadmap / something somewhere about this?)

(Note 2: I realise the reasons for the current block have been discussed in the threads below, but I and, I expect, other users would like to track progress on this issue. I searched for an existing ticket but was unable to find any.)

After the new forums box is rolled out yes, but until then, the search engines cause too much load.
