Here the output of /var/log/messages:

Feb 15 08:20:24 tux stellarium[26975]: segfault at c ip b6fd1af0 sp af7bdc60 error 4 in libpthread-2.6.1.so[b6fca000+13000]
Comment 2 thierry volpiatto 2009-02-16 16:02:21 UTC
With the update of today of qt-core to ==> 4.4.2-r2 it seem
stellarium is working again.

Comment 3 thierry volpiatto 2009-02-16 20:19:00 UTC
No sorry i still have the same error:
From /var/log/messages:

Feb 16 20:56:59 tux stellarium[6620]: segfault at c ip b707c440 sp af7a1c78 error 4<6>stellarium[6619]: segfault at c ip b707c440 sp affa30d8 error 4 in libpthread-2.6.1.so[b7075000+13000] in libpthread-2.6.1.so[b7075000+13000]

Comment 4 thierry volpiatto 2009-02-17 12:48:51 UTC
I don't want to talk too fast but now it seem to work.

- I change my use flags: -qt3 and add qt4 qt3support
- I emerge -avuND world, that recompile all qt related libraries.

I also update my kernel to tuxonice-2.6.28-r2 but that's not related.

Now i stop restart stellarium many times and it did'nt fail.
I also reboot and use again stellarium with success.

So i think the qt libraries have to be compiled with qt4 and qt3support (maybe)
to make stellarium working.
A new ebuild should do that.

So for the moment all work fine, i will tell you if something go wrong again.

Hmmm ok. Well, I'll call this fixed for now but please reopen if you can determine a way to reproduce it. Thanks.

I think we can reproduce with the qt3 flag enabled and qt3support/qt4
disabled (in make.conf not just for stellarium).
Then the ebuild shoud be modified in consequence.

Comment 7 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-05 07:17:54 UTC
I rebuilt all my qt stuff with the use flags as you mentioned and I wasn't able to reproduce it. Could be specific versions are necessary or maybe related to the use flags and/or versions of dependencies but it seems like just the qt3support, etc. use flags aren't enough.
Comment 8 thierry volpiatto 2009-03-05 07:35:17 UTC
Yes it's difficult to reproduce.
That bug appear only on my laptop and the only thing i found was to recompile with these
flags.
But it seem on my other computer (amd64) every things work with only qt3 flag.
