Would it be possible, please, add ebuild for splix 2.0 version? According to http://splix.ap2c.org/ it was released on February, 6. 2009. The latest in portage is 1.1.1. Thank you very much. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge --sync 2.emerge -s splix Actual Results: Only 1.x version is available.
Created attachment 183173 [details] ebuild for splix-2.0.0 Works flawlessly (duplex etc.) for my Samsung ML-2015. Steps for installation: 0) delete current printer using cups web interface and do '/etc/init.d/cupsd stop' (just to be safe) 1) mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/splix_overlay/net-print/splix 2) put splix-2.0.0.ebuild in that folder 3) append "/usr/local/portage/splix_overlay" to PORTDIR_OVERLAY in /etc/make.conf 4) ebuild /usr/local/portage/splix_overlay/net-print/splix/splix-2.0.0.ebuild digest 5) if you're running a stable system, put 'net-print/splix' in /etc/portage/package.keywords 6) emerge splix P.S. ebuild is made of splix-1.1.1.ebuild ;) (I only deleted 1.1.0-fix-makefile.patch, though it might be useful). Good luck!
Seems working for me (ML-2571, although I have to use ML-1710 ppd according to http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Samsung-ML-2571). Thank you very much!
Works fine on my Samsung ML2010 printer.
It works fine for me (printer Xerox Phaser 3130).
Thank you. Works fine for me an amd64 with CLX-2160, text quality is good, color quality not: too dark
What I'm missing in this ebuild is support for the samsung color management files. They can be downloaded at: http://splix.ap2c.org/samsung_cms.tar.bz2 This file contains cms files for all samsung clp and clx printers supported by splix driver and needs to be extracted to /usr/share/cups/model/samsung/cms (In reply to comment #5) They make a huge visual difference for me when printing colored pages!
Created attachment 204028 [details] updated ebuild for net-print/splix-2.0.0
Created attachment 207080 [details] QA fixes and install cms files The makefile patch is used to respect CFLAGS/LDFLAGS, toolchain binaries, and not stripping binaries at install. I've updated them for 2.0.0, and added cms files installation
Wolfram, do you still maintain this one? If not, I can update it in portage once I can test it (as I should get one of these printers in the next weeks)
Works fine for me. ~x86, Samsung SCX-4200
http://splix.ap2c.org/samsung_cms.tar.bz2 is unavailable for ebuild in comment ~8.
Added in portage, thanks everyone (tested with a SCX-4500W)
