please post your emerge --info. as I don't have a nikon cam, it would be useful to attach one of the failing raw files (if it's smaller that the bugzilla limit) or provide it somewhere else, that we can reproduce this failure.

I can confirm this on amd64. It seems to be a media-gfx/exiv2 issue though as downgrading to media-gfx/exiv2-0.17 (from 0.18) solved the problem for me.
Pawel, Boris: can you confirm that downgrading to media-gfx/exiv2-0.17 solves this issue?
This is due to a change of the name of one of the Nikon maker tags in Exiv2 v. 0.18. Upstream bug is http://bugzilla.rawstudio.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258 and the bug includes a patch as well.
