Adding a patch for the new ebuild here.

It seems to me original distibution package is broken.

Hope I fixed it, please test.

There are some issues between the "normal" gzip installed in / and the gzip_x86 installed in /usr.

For example I cannot read man pages, since man wants to user /bin/gunzip which does not exist anymore. So I would have to remerge all the gzip-dependencies.
Alternatively, symlinks would solve the problem.

gzip_x86 ought to be installed in /, it's a drop-in replacement.  sorry about that
