it's probably not a gentoo bug, I just want to report XVideo doesn't work with ati-drivers 8.753 and 8.753-r1 on AMD64. using vlc-0.9.8a on xorg-server-1.5.3-r2, XVideo output shows a black screen (sound ok). no error message via command line. solution is to downgrade to ati-drivers-8.561.
