(In reply to comment #0) OK. The ebuild does not correctly enforce dependence on dev-python/nose. If a correct version of dev-python/nose is installed, then everything works. I do not know how to change ebuild, but I have pinpointed the cause. Another thing is, I think there is a typo with cblas being written as cbas. It apparently doesn't affect building the package.
Hi, Yes, nose is needed for tests, and the ebuild correctly depends on it when testing is enabled. It is a matter of taste for the run-time dependency on nose, you don't need nose for all packages depending on numpy, so I decided not to add it.
