s3fs needs /etc/mime.types to correctly set the content type of the files it writes to s3. Refer http://code.google.com/p/s3fs/wiki/FuseOverAmazon#Faq (2nd last point in first item) Without /etc/mime.types files written by s3fs are will be retrieved incorrectly by browsers in most cases.
