I've installed kde4.2. There is no slot 4.2 for yakuake. yakuake depends on konsole, so it's not possible to use yakuake with kde4.2 except for installing konsole in slot 4.1. Yakuake doesn't really fit into the kde slots, since there's versions for kde3 and for kde4, but not versions per minor version of kde. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install kde4.2 2. Uninstall kde4.1 3. Install yakuake 4. Run yakuake Actual Results: yakuake can't open a console Expected Results: yakuake opens a console
Sync your tree, yakuake has as its dependency any konsole. tho with +kdeprefix you might get some minor issues that it will install into other slot but basicaly rule is that install procedure pick the latest version. But normaly you are definetly able to install yakuake for 4.2. I myself use it in there ;]
Indeed I am using the kdeprefix use flag and this is causing the trouble. Reopening since this problem is reproducable and (in a perfect world) does need a fix. Mainly I am using the kdeprefix use flag since I want to use 3.5 and 4.x in parallel while migrating to 4.x. I know that I should not need to use it for that purpose, but some people have reported problems using 3.x and 4.x in parallel without the kdeprefix flag. I'm leaving it up to you to determine if you want to fix this, since I installed konsole in slot 4.1 as a workaround. BTW: I am synced. Ok in that case it is wontfix, you liberetly use kdeprefix use flag that tells you want more kde4 versions around, learn to live with it, we wont slot every package X times where X is number of minor versions in the tree, sorry it cant be done. so pick one kde4 version and recompile the misc packages, you will get them into correct folder...
