I can't start lxlauncher. When starting from command line i see no output, no window is appearing.

Lxlauncher draws it's window directly onto the desktop(sort of replacing the background-image). To see it you'll have to minimize all windows. Additionally widgets like conky or gdesklets may cover it.

Do you have anything running that might hide the lxlauncher window?

It works. It was hidden by other windows.
