Description Nico Schlömer 2009-01-29 19:16:35 UTC
hi,

i installed kde 4.2 from the fresh builds and noticed that my amarok stopped playing music. no error, no warning, just no sound either.

problem gone as soon as i installed phonon-kde, a package that hasn't been around before kde 4.2. -- hm, i don't know how to handle this dependency-wise, but i hope the issue is clear.

please add the depency or something.

cheers,
nico

Reproducible: Always

And kde-base/phonon-kde-4.2.0 needs at least media-sound/phonon-4.3.0.
So this dependency should be added, too!

On my system, amarok deneyed playing, until I symlinked libraries, installed from phonon, from /usr to /usr/kde/4.2
so, I think, USE flag kdeprefix should be added to package media-sound/phonon

Same problem here.
Emerged KDE 4.2 with kdeprefix USE flag, so all KDE 4.2 related files have been installed in /usr/kde/4.2 but media-sound/phonon lacks of the kdeprefix USE flag so it installs its files in /usr/lib/kde4, /usr/share/kde4, and so on... but kdeprefix enabled KDE doesn't look there for these files.

Should we open a new bug for this specific issue?

bye bye!

Fixed.
Added as dependency to kdebase-startkde (4.2.0-r2 and newer) and since we wont support any smaller install than kdebase-startkde the dep is there :]
