Description Klaus-J. Wolf 2003-07-31 20:52:39 UTC
Neither shutdown nor wall important messages are displayed on standard X terminals.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. shutdown -k +5 this message will not be displayed
2.
3.

Actual Results:
On X terminals, there will be no message at all.

Expected Results:
A message should be displayed, like it would be on console, or on SSH sessions.

it depends on the terminal and how the terminal launches the shell if i
remember correctly

What does "ls -l `tty`" say?
Comment 4 Aron Griffis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-30 09:26:48 UTC
works for me with xterm +ls and xterm -ls. I also saw this work correctly for a shutdown with ssh sessions. Since this hasn't been updated in nearly a year, I'm closing it until we have more information
