Description tomas charvat 2009-01-29 13:47:30 UTC
I have been using linux-2.6.25-hardened-r1* with out any problems.
After upgrade to 2.6.26-hardened-r9 im unable to restart all upgraded servers.
All of them (dual quad core 54xx, single quadcore 54xx, Opteron with 1 core) are unable to reboot.

After reboot command everything is going to shutdown, then filesystem is unmounted and the comes ooops.

It is very dangerous bug, because, you can upgrade to this kernel w/o any problem, boot it up, use it w/o any problem.... but when you go to reboot.. game over.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
Hard lock

Expected Results:
restart of the PC

Doesn't look like an oops. Looks like spamc or whatever isn't being shutdown before reboot. If the kernel is oopsing please attach the oops output (w/o GRKERNSEC_HIDESYM enabled). Please also attach your kernel config and lspci -vv output.

Can you reproduce this on the latest gentoo-sources-2.6.26 release? What about hardened-sources-2.6.27-r8 and 2.6.28? Thanks.
